Did You Know...?

...That's a mere 5 years and 3 months from now. My new house will have a solar array and have a drastically reduced Carbon Footprint (no oil, no gas, recycled materials, PV, Solar Thermal, all LED Lighting, 30cm insulated walls, Green Roof). It is all more feasible then you think. And affordable, with a much better return on investment.

September Numbers

Thanks to everyone who stopped by and checked out the blog last month. We added two new followers, had half a dozen new comments and had 2612 total page views for the month! That beat August's record views by 700.

Now, I have to step up my game. Look for more pieces this month on the more difficult science, why peer review is important in the scientific community and what are some of the biggest myths out there from the side that believes the way we treat this planet is just fine despite all that is obviously going wrong.

If you aren't following, please sign up. If you have some feedback, its welcome. I look forward to seeing even more of you this month!

Halving the Worlds Populations

The World Wildlife Fund released a statistic that everyone needs to see. Since 1970, the majority of the world's vertebrate populations have been cut in half. That's 50% gone. The main cause? Over fishing, hunting and poaching and habitat destruction are the reasons. And what, do you ask, is causing all of this? Do you really have to ask that?

Climate Reality Monday

"We can believe in the future and work to achieve it and preserve it, or we can whirl blindly on, behaving as if one day there will be no children to inherit our legacy. The choice is ours; the earth is in the balance."

- Al Gore, Earth in the Balance: Ecology and the Human Spirit
