Mission

The Climate Crisis is a serious issue. It can be overwhelming and depressing. While we face a long road ahead of us to end our negative impacts on the climate and the environment as a whole, it doesn't always have to be all gloom and doom, does it? We must be educated and prepared when addressing these issues, but we can also have some fun and laugh, can't we?

- I want to empower readers so they can learn what is real and what is hogwash. There is so much out there that is just flat out untrue. I want to help you learn how to sniff out the bullshit from what's really true.

- I want to encourage people to dissect what they are reading/hearing/seeing and be able to cut through conjecture by questioning where that information is coming from. Do you know how to separate Fact from Fiction? Here's an example: "Twilight" is fiction (and awful fiction at that). The Sun rises and sets everyday, which is a fact.

- I hope to educate others so they know when a website or news source is just spewing crap. No one likes to be misled. Like when your parents told you when you were a kid that your cat Fluffy went to live on a farm. It helped you for a while, but when you learned the truth about Fluffy, you were kinda pissed.

- I want to encourage others to take responsibility for their own actions and hold others, including our elected officials, to a higher standard that will improve the quality of life for us and the entire planet. If you don't like something, write to your Congressman. If they are not putting your interests first, vote for someone else. If someone else is not meeting up to snuff, maybe you should run for office!

- I want people to laugh and smile without losing sight of the enormous task before us to create a better future. There is a lot of complicated science and countless relationships in nature. Unless you understand the mechanisms in place, you can get lost in the gloom and doom of the planets impending demise. It's okay to poke fun at some things. You are going to be criticized for your position on global warming anyway, so you might as well have fun.

Gloom and Doom are only for those who give up without trying. We can change the world by accepting the challenge and striving to make a difference.
